Americos Amylase 345 (Wide range law temperature de-size
enzyme)
Introduction :
Americos Amylase 345 is a desizing agent based on bacterial alpha amylase.
It is a mixture of highly concentrated alpha-amylase, wetting agent and
lubricant to convert most of the sizes viz. starch, starch derivatives,
synthetic sizes and their blends into water soluble products. Specifically
it can be used for the following sizing materials and their combinations:
Advantages:
- Starch
- Starch / Polyvinyl alcohol
- Starch / Polyvinyl alcohol / Carboxyl Methyl cellulase (CMC)
- Starch / Polyvinyl alcohol / Acrylates
Americos Amylase 345 has three different types of actions. The built-in
wetting agent ensures proper penetration of enzyme in the textile material.
The enzyme then converts the starch sizes in to soluble dextrin products,
which can be easily removed in the subsequent washings. Moreover, the
in-built lubricant reduces fiber to fiber and fiber to metal friction. This
unique combination prevents the formation of unwanted creases, streaks,
lines and crack marks during desizing process.

Americos Amylase 345 |
1 - 2 ml/l |
Temperature |
30-60°C |
pH |
6 -7 |

pH |
6 -7 |
Time |
30 - 60 min |
First, raise the temperature of bath to 30 - 60oC. The machine should run
for a minute to ensure proper mixing of chemicals. Adjust pH 6 - 7.
Thereafter, garment should be loaded. The desizing time can be varied from
30 - 60 min depending upon the type of fabric and chemical dosage.
3) Semi-continuous application (pad-batch process)
Americos Amylase 345 |
3 - 5 ml/l |
pH |
6 -7 |
Impregnate the fabric at 30-60°C for a pick-up of 80 - 100%. Store the
fabric for 8 - 12 h; give one hot wash with soda ash, one plain hot wash and
one cold rinse.

Americos Amylase 380 (Thermo stable bacterial a-amylase)
Introduction :
Americos Amylase 380 enzyme is a concentrated thermostable bacterial
amylase which should be used as a formulating base for desizing fabrics,
sized with starch, starch derivatives, or blends of starch and other
synthetic sizing materials. The strong amylolytic power of Americos Amylase
380 enzyme - especially at high temperatures - allows rapid conversion of
the starch size into dextrins, which are easily removed by rinsing following
impregnation with enzyme.
Americos Amylase 380 enzyme has long been the industry standard for
quality, consistency, and stability. The formulation of the enzyme was
designed to accommodate further addition of a variety of chemical
auxiliaries in order to assist our customers in differentiating their
desizing product line.
Americos uses state-of-the-art biotechnology production methods and this
product contains enzyme (s) produced by a genetically modified organism.
Advantages:
- Concentrated for easy formulation into differentiated textile
desizing products
- Active at high temperature
- Tolerates live steam
Typical Characteristics:

The activity of Americos Amylase 380 enzyme is
determined against an internal standard using the synthetic starch substrate
blocked p-Nitrophenylmaltoheptoside (BGNP).
The resulting enzyme activity is expressed in Themostable Textile Amylase
Units (TTAU)

Process Conditions:
Chelation:
Chelating agents should not be used with Americos Amylase 380 enzyme. Water
hardness and common salt increase the stability of this enzyme.
Chemical auxiliaries:
Wetting agents, detergents, scouring agent, or solvent scours can be used
with all applications of Americos Amylase 380 enzyme to enhance penetration
and size swelling, along with assisting in the removal of waxes, soils, and
synthetic sizing materials.
Typically, non-ionic surfactants are suitable for combination with enzymes
whereas anionic and cationic surfactants may disrupt enzyme activity.
Lubricants are generally recommended to be used in combination with amylase
enzymes during desizing to reduce the formation of crease marks and streaks.
The addition of lubricants is especially recommended when desizing in rotary
washers, in jet dye machines, or in preparation for denim washing.
Whenever auxiliary chemicals are used in conjunction with desizing enzymes,
check to ensure that the auxiliaries are compatible with the enzyme.
Storage & Handling Precautions:
- Store in a cool place, preferably below 25°C
- Avoid storing in direct sunlight
- Prolonged storage above 30°C should be
avoided
- The usual precaution for chemicals should be
observed
